Die Idee zu diesem Projekt kam von der Österreichisch-Kubanischen Gesellschaft in wessen Prominentenkomitee Elfriede Jelinke sitzt. Finanziert wurde dieses durch gesammelte Spendengelder in der Höhe von 28 000 Euro.
